Safend have officially released the new version 3.3 of Safend Protector. New features include:

1) File Shadowing – The Safend file shadowing feature enables IT managers to shadow certain file by binary structure. This is a huge unique selling point as other competitors can only apply a policy to shadow all files. This is not a viable option as it creates bandwidth issues.

2) Virtual Volume Encryption – This new feature has been added to Safend Protector’s removable storage encryption, providing end users with the ability to encrypt data on CD/DVD media and external hard drives.

3) Sever Cluster – Safend have added this feature for the enterprise clients that require load balancing and DR capabilities.

4) Strong Anti Tampering Technology – This technology prevents end user disabling the client.

5) Reporter – Safend have released the reporter module. This enables IT managers to schedule reporting and provide senior management with graphical reports. The reporter is priced per user and will add to the revenue and profit of each deal.

For the 30 day evaluation you will need to install the protector on a server and import the audit results. Once the auditor results have been imported you can start setting policy. The auditor provides you with the full historical report of what end points devices employees have used on there machines.
